Nationwide Mortgage Bankers Inc. (NMB) announced on Monday its appointment of Chris Allen to the role of chief culture officer.
Before joining NMB, Allen held roles in business consulting and also served as chief talent officer at Movement Mortgage, helping to grow the company to more than 4,000 employees while developing its in-house training program, Movement University.
In his new role, Allen will be based in NMB’s new office in Charlotte. He will be working closely with the executive team, particularly Sharon Lafaurie, the company’s senior vice president of human resources.
“This is an incredible opportunity,” said Allen, a Chicago native who has lived in Charlotte for 25 years. “It’s an opportunity to help shape a culture that values people for who they are and empowers them to bring their unique gifts to the table. NMB is committed to becoming a place where people thrive, grow and do amazing things together.”
The company’s announcement said that Allen will help to launch the NMB Leadership Academy, which will align the entire organization under a common operating system with quarterly and annual goals.
“NMB is committed to a culture that puts people first,” said NMB President Michael Brennan, who is also a former Movement Mortgage executive. “Bringing Chris on board reflects our commitment to people. People matter; it’s one of our core values. We’re building a company that wins because it puts people first.”
