PRMG and Mesa collaborate on a co-branded credit card

Mesa has announced an exclusive collaboration with Paramount Residential Mortgage Group (PRMG), introducing a co-branded credit card that rewards homeowner loyalty on mortgage payments.

The partnership, which is now available to all qualified PRMG borrowers, allows card holders to earn rewards and Mesa Points on monthly mortgage payments and accelerated points on home-related and everyday purchases, with $0 in annual membership fees. All Mesa Homeowners Visa Cards are powered by Highnote and issued by Celtic Bank.

To take advantage of the benefits, clients can apply for the card after they close on their home purchase when working with a PRMG loan officer.

“At Mesa, our mission is to make homeownership more affordable and rewarding,” said Kelley Halpin, co-founder and CEO of Mesa. “By working with PRMG — a leader in mortgage lending — we’re able to introduce the benefits of the Mesa platform to homeowners at the very start of their journey, helping them save money on their mortgage and home-related expenses from day one.”

Through this partnership, PRMG borrowers can earn points on their mortgage payments and will be eligible to access up to $800 in value through Mesa’s suite of homeowner-focused benefits and rewards. These include memberships with brands like Sam’s Club, home maintenance credits with Thumbtack, and home essentials and decor from Cozy Earth.

“At PRMG, we are always seeking new ways to add value for our customers,” said Kevin Peranio, chief lending officer at PRMG. “Introducing a homeowner loyalty program and co-branded card that directly benefits homeowners gives us a strong competitive edge while deepening customer loyalty in innovative ways.”

Peranio told HousingWire that the program was a “no-brainer” for his company to participate in.

“Every originator and servicer is looking for the best way to keep in contact with consumers, and a rewards platform tied to a Visa credit card that gets viewed multiple times a month is very powerful with respect to this initiative. There is simply no other platform that rewards borrowers for making their single biggest payment of debt, like Mesa does,” he said.

“As one of the largest and most innovative lenders in the US, PRMG now has a co-branded loyalty program and credit card that rewards homeowners for every dollar spent on their home, including their mortgage payment,” Halpin added.

“Mesa is helping drive greater engagement and retention for lenders and servicers like PRMG by offering an entirely new category of value for their customers. We’re excited for them to join us on our mission of making homeownership more affordable and rewarding.”
