Two individuals from North Carolina, one of whom is a 20-year-old named Omarion Glass, are being charged with several felonies after a car chase and shooting incident with Myrtle Beach law enforcement officers on Thursday morning.
Around 8:15 a.m., the event started in the 1700 block of South Ocean Boulevard when law enforcement officers tried to approach a dubious vehicle containing four masked individuals. Upon the officers’ approach, the vehicle quickly drove away, leading to a chase where a person inside the vehicle fired shots at the pursuing officers, as per law enforcement reports.
The pursuit ended close to 67th Avenue North and North U.S. Highway 17 following a crash involving the suspect vehicle. All four individuals, including Omarion Glass, inside were apprehended at the location. There were no injuries to law enforcement or bystanders throughout the event.
Riley Pegram, aged 17, from Brown Summit, North Carolina, faces charges including three counts of attempted murder, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during a violent crime, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a stolen vehicle, and failure to stop.
Omarion Glass, aged 20 and from Greensboro, North Carolina, is charged with three counts of attempted murder, along with possession of a firearm during a violent offense, and involving a person under 18 in the commission of specific crimes.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department has verified that the two additional individuals initially held during the incident have now been handed over to state custody and are currently not being charged.
Authorities have not indicated the suspect who discharged the firearm or the details surrounding the abduction accusation. Investigators are still examining the series of occurrences that resulted in the charges.

The other two individuals that were earlier detained are not facing charges at this time, and have been released to state custody.
At approximately 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, in the 1700 Block of South Ocean Boulevard, Officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department attempted to proactively approach a vehicle with four occupants, all of whom were wearing masks. As officers approached, the vehicle fled. During the pursuit, an individual inside the suspect vehicle fired at officers. The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle crashed near 67th Avenue North and North U.S. Highway 17. All four occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody.
Thankfully, no officers or community members were injured.
