Barricaded home near Myrtle Beach airport: More than 15 officers respond

On Friday morning in Myrtle Beach, two individuals have been apprehended by the Myrtle Beach Police Department after a barricaded home incident.

Residents in Myrtle Beach were urged by the police to steer clear of the vicinity where a subject had a standoff in the residence.

During the presence of the police, motorists were instructed to avoid the vicinity of Highway 15, located directly opposite the Myrtle Beach airport. Law enforcement officers shut down Highway 15 in order to facilitate the evacuation of individuals from the barricaded home.

The all-clear was given by a spokesperson for the Myrtle Beach Police Department shortly before 2:30 p.m. Two suspects were then arrested.

Police in Myrtle Beach were called to the area of Rosehaven Drive in the 1200 block, close to Harrelson Boulevard and Highway 15, at approximately 9 a.m.

MBPD said the initial call was for an assault but the situation latter evolved to a barricaded home standoff.

Road across from Myrtle Beach International Airport at Highway 15 closed

Highway 15 was closed from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Harrelson Boulevard, north of the Myrtle Beach airport, to 17th Street South. Traffic was being rerouted until the standoff in the barricaded home ended.
