Myrtle Beach City officials met with the press today to discuss preparations being made for a safe Carolina Country Music Festival this weekend.
Over 30,000 people attended the 2024 Festival.
Headlining this weekend’s event are: Kid Rock, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, and Rascal Flatts. Other notable artists include Brantley Gilbert, Chris Young, Chase Rice, John Stamos and the Beach Boys, The Frontmen, and Tyler Hubbard.
Ensuring a Safe Carolina Country Music Festival
With recent downtown shootings this past Spring, officials made it clear that a safe Carolina Country Music Festival weekend is expected.
A representative from Tidelands Hospital, as well as, city event managers discussed heat issues, appropriate footwear to avoid blisters, dehydration, and other issues that might ensure a safe Carolina Country Music Festival three day weekend for all those attending.
Dana O’Brien, The City’s Emergency Management Specialist, informed attendants of what to do in case of thunder storms, lightning, and rain. Her comments can be heard in the video within this article.
Thousands of Horry County residents attend the CCMF. We asked City Public Information Officer Meredith Denari wasn’t it historically accurate to state that in the past 10 years: a safe Carolina Country Music Festival was a common occurrence.
Denari responded that all events in downtown Myrtle Beach are safe. She highlighted the 4th of July, Memorial Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, and practically all weekends inside the city limits.
