Community mourns passing of Gerri McDaniel

Horry County lost a pioneer, leader, organizer and friend in Gerri McDaniel this past Saturday at 9 p.m. Her energy, her enthusiasm, and her warmth is being grieved across America.

Her best friend Robin Holley posted the following on Facebook: Love you Ger Ger! Nickname. Your soul is and was something that most can’t or wouldn’t imagine. I can only imagine what it must be like in heaven with our Father. I know you must be organizing all the Republicans up there and helping the Dems understand why they were wrong about our man President Donald J Trump.

I will never forget our sisterhood since 2015. I’m a better person for knowing you. Thank you and

you RIP my BFFIH

Gerri McDaniel was the original Trump Girl

Back in 2015, Gerri McDaniel chose to back Donald Trump for President, when most Americans thought he was no more than a novelty candidate.

She worked the grass roots tirelessly, and he won.

Gerri McDaniel was a rare combination of leader/manager/organizer. Seldom are those very different qualities found in one person. Always optimistic, always future focused, and a true friend.

Many people say they want change. Gerri McDaniel created positive change everywhere she went. Not only did she fight, she knew how to fight, when to fight, how to organize, lead and win.

Over the many phone calls I received this weekend, one person asked, “Where did all of that energy go?” I was never shy about sharing my faith with Gerri.

In Matthew, the Bible is future focused about people who surrender themselves to Jesus Christ and put their talent to work on this earth. His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little, I will put you in charge of many things; share in the joy of your master.’
