John Cahill steps down as Athletic Director of Myrtle Beach High

The Athletic Director of Myrtle Beach High School has stepped down per a letter sent to parents by Kristin Altman, Principal Myrtle Beach High School.

Now, Former Athletic Director of Myrtle Beach High, John Cahill will remain as a teacher in the Horry County School System.

The letter concerning the Athletic Director of Myrtle Beach High reads as follows:

Dear Myrtle Beach Seahawks,
I am writing to let you know that Mr. John Cahill has stepped down as the Athletic Director for Myrtle Beach High School and will conclude his tenure as athletic director on June 30, 2025. Subsequently, he will resume a teaching role within Horry County Schools on July 1, 2025. We are grateful for Mr. Cahill’s commitment to the students and athletes at Myrtle Beach High School, and we wish him all the best.

You are receiving a link to a survey to express your views on what we should consider when hiring the next MBHS athletic director. The procedure will begin with a public announcement of the job opening, followed by interviews, and ultimately a recommendation of a candidate to the superintendent.
