NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The City of North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Department has been recognized with the prestigious 2024 Program Excellence Award in the under 30,000 population category by the South Carolina Recreation and Parks Association (SCRPA). This honor highlights the department’s commitment to innovative programming and outstanding service to the community. This honor recognizes the department’s innovative Get Out & Learn program, which inspires community members and visitors to explore the City’s natural environment through educational activities and outdoor excursions.

Get Out & Learn incorporates the expertise of a South Carolina Master Naturalist on staff to deliver a well-rounded learning experience. The 2024 Program Excellence Award winner encourages participants to engage with North Myrtle Beach’s diverse natural areas while fostering environmental awareness, education, and community pride. By connecting residents to their surroundings, the initiative promotes a sense of responsibility toward preserving the City’s natural resources.
