Gatch is a key Representative working with others to block Shan Massey’s tort reform legislation. A S.C. House version that Gatch prefers is a much more watered down, less effective bill say most S.C. Conservatives.
On March 24th, Gatch tweeted “Bring it Rom”. He mentions the Rom Reddy Doge SC pac, but incorrectly states that Reddy is a millionaire. In fact, Rom Reddy is a billionaire, who like Elon Musk, can’t be bought nor frightened.
Rom Reddy did state, “Those who vote against S. 244 should be prepared to face serious primary challenges in the next cycle – and many will not survive them.” S.244 is the much needed S.C. tort reform bill South Carolinians are in favor of.
Like 30% of all of those who serve in the General Assembly, Gil Gatch is a lawyer, legislator. Many of these lawyer legislators receive huge PAC donations from SCAJ associated PACs.
SCAJ was once called the SC Trial Lawyers. The group changed its name after former President Alex Murdaugh was convicted of killing his wife and son.
