Elected officials answered numerous inquiries from a range of Cub Scouts, including Cub Scouts Den Leader Noyes.

At the conclusion of the gathering, the Cub Scouts distributed commendations to all the chosen leaders.

This was an excellent way for our elected officials to get involved with tomorrow’s leaders,” said one proud parent in attendance.

The Arrow of Light, which is achieved by Webelos Scouts in the 5th grade, stands as the pinnacle rank in Cub Scouting. The Arrow of Light Creed encompasses the subsequent values:

  • Justice: Treating others fairly and without prejudice
  • Faith: The belief that something is true even if it can’t be proven by physical evidence
  • Hope: Expecting better things to come with confidence
  • Love: The love of family, home, fellowman, God, and country

The Arrow of Light honor is embodied by an arrow, signifying the direct route taken by scouts. Additionally, the award is symbolized by the sun, representing the virtues that shape a balanced individual. The sun’s seven rays represent each day of the week, serving as a constant reminder to give our utmost effort each day.

To achieve the Arrow of Light award, Cub Scouts must fulfill six mandatory Adventures and two elective Adventures. Additionally, they should actively participate in their Webelos den for a minimum of six months following the completion of fourth grade or upon reaching 10 years of age. This entails maintaining regular attendance, paying den dues, and actively engaging in den projects.

The Arrow of Light ceremony marks the passage from Cub Scouting to Cub Scouts BSA. It typically takes place as Webelos conclude their time in the pack, known as a crossover or bridging ceremony. This special event acknowledges the dedication of the scouts, as well as the invaluable support provided by leaders and parents.
