Trump proof the election? John Thune is new Senate Leader

Democrats, the Deep State, Blue State Governors, and even a majority of Republicans in the senate are working actively to Trump Proof the most recent U.S. elections.

John Thune, the Senate Minority Whip, will assume the dual role of the Republican Senate leader and majority leader of the upper chamber in the upcoming Congress. A secret ballot was held in the U.S. Senate today, with Thune coming out the winner.

Thune is considered a McConnellite by most conservatives.

With Deep State government reform foremost on President-elect Trump’s mind, was this vote an effort to Trump proof meaningful change to the deep state?

Trump has recently revealed the appointment of Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy as co-heads of his newly formed Department of Government Efficiency. The question remains whether Thune will serve as a countermeasure to these reforms in an attempt to Trump Proof the election against limiting potential influence from the deep state.

Thune’s affiliation as a senator never aligned with being a MAGA, America First, or pro-Trump.

Thune will take over as Senate Minority Leader in January, replacing Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., who holds the record for being the longest-serving party leader in Senate history.

“I am extremely honored to have earned the support of my colleagues to lead the Senate in the 119th Congress, and I am beyond proud of the work we have done to secure our majority and the White House,” Thune said in a statement. “This Republican team is united behind President Trump’s agenda, and our work starts today.”

Only time will tell if Thune’s statement holds.

There was no majority achieved by any candidate in the initial concealed vote held in the former Senate chamber on Wednesday morning. Sen. Rick Scott, a representative from Florida, received the lowest number of votes and was eliminated from the competition. The subsequent concealed vote involved only Thune and Cornyn.

“I am excited to work with this team and get to work right away,” Thune informed journalists shortly after emerging victorious.

Thune’s office reported that Thune secured 29 votes on the second ballot, while Cornyn received 24 votes.

Senators Rick Scott, John Tune, and John Cornyn individually presented their closing arguments to Republican colleagues in a late Tuesday night forum hosted by Sen. Mike Lee of Utah.

Sen. John Barrasso, a Republican from Wyoming, will serve as the assistant majority leader. Sen. Tom Cotton, a Republican from Arkansas, will take on the role of Republican conference chair. Sen. Shelly Moore Capito, a Republican from West Virginia, will serve as the chair of the Republican Policy Committee. Sen. James Lankford, a Republican from Oklahoma, will be the Republican conference vice chair. Lastly, Sen. Tim Scott, a Republican from South Carolina, will take on the position of chair for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Scott garnered the highest level of public backing, receiving support from Senators Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin), Bill Hagerty (R-Tennessee), Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), Tommy Tuberville (R-Alabama), and Marco Rubio (R-Florida).

Upon exiting the meeting, Scott secured the support of Lee and Senator Marsha Blackburn, a Republican from Tennessee, resulting in two fresh public endorsements.

Democrats and Never-Trumpers continue to work as one to Trump Proof the Nov. 5 elections.
