Coastal Carolina beat rival Appalachian State in a 38-24 win on Thursday night, with Braydon Bennett rushing for three touchdowns and Ethan Vasko contributing two more.
Bennett completed a 2-yard touchdown run after a 17-play, 87-yard drive that took 8 minutes and 42 seconds in the third quarter. In the subsequent play, AJ Williams intercepted a pass thrown by Joey Aguilar, returning it 35 yards to the Appalachian State 1-yard line. Two plays later, Vasko scored a touchdown, extending Coastal Carolina’s lead to 31-10.

In the first quarter, Bennett achieved 88 rushing yards by carrying the ball nine times. He successfully scored on runs of 12 and 37 yards. Meanwhile, Vasko accumulated 150 passing yards and gained an additional 52 yards on the ground. Towards the end of the game, he made a touchdown pass of 6 yards to Jameson Tucker, with only 2 minutes and 26 seconds remaining.
Appalachian State (4-5, 2-4) witnessed Ahmani Marshall rushing for 124 yards on 28 carries, scoring two touchdowns. Aguilar’s performance included completing 17 of 31 passes for 226 yards, with two interceptions and a 25-yard touchdown pass to Kaedin Robinson in the final 1:40.
