Lisa Bourcier, the spokesperson for Horry County Schools, stated that a substitute teacher at Myrtle Beach High School was fired in October 2022 due to engaging in inappropriate conversations with students.
It turns out that Myrtle Beach Mayor Brenda Bethune and Myrtle Beach City Council appointed Shane Cacho to the city’s Human Rights Commission. After checking records this week, it appears that the individual is still serving in that capacity.
According to an incident report filed by the Myrtle Beach Police Department, a complainant informed an officer that the identified offender was engaging in sending inappropriate messages within a group chat.
The individual who was fired on October 31st, 2022, started employment with HCS as a substitute in March of 2022, according to Bourcier. She stated that unprofessional behavior was displayed.
